Myra
Jackson
(30 pounds)
Myra was frustrated because she was unable to muster the energy to do
the things she wanted--especially with her two children. Overdoing it on fried
foods, doughnuts and macaroni and cheese, Myra knew that losing weight would
benefit her health, physically and emotionally. Inspired by Jared, she
determined that she would try eating at Subway twice a day, four times a week,
as part of her weight-loss regimen, which also included Tae-Bo or jogging
everyday. Eating at Subway suited her busy lifestyle--in addition to her
parental duties, she is also a full-time criminal justice student. In the
morning, Myra starts her day with two eggs and a glass of water. For lunch she
would enjoy a turkey sub on white bread with lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers,
cheese and light on the onions. For dinner, it was another turkey sandwich or a
veggie delight salad, always with a glass of water. Myra says that Subway made
it easy for her to lose weight because she didn’t feel hungry after eating.
When not enjoying a Subway sandwich, Myra says that she eats lots of vegetables
and turkey or chicken salad. Today, she is a happier and more confident woman
who now looks into her mirror and smiles. When asked what advice she would give
to dieters, Myra responded, "Believe in yourself and tell yourself that you can
do it."
